A new born baby bath is a very important part of a baby’s routine hygiene. It is very important to use the right products and while bathing a new born baby, as their skin is highly delicate and sensitive. A new born baby bath can be a fun bonding experience for both parent and child.

The temperature for the baby bath water should be lesser than what we adults use. The baby bath water temperature should be approx. 36-37 degrees Celsius. Baby bath temperature is available in the market in case you want to opt it else, you can check the temperature manually.

You should not check the temperature by your hand, instead pour a small amount of water on your elbow and ensure that it is little warm only.

The reason here is that baby’s skin is very delicate and sensitive so please do ensure that the baby bath water should feel warm while testing it on your elbow.

You should never put the baby directly in the bathing water directly, instead put your hands in between.

How to Use Baby Soaps?
Remember, if you are going to use baby soap, then do not directly put the soap on the baby’s skin. Instead, you have to take the soap on a soft piece of cloth or rub on your hand and then apply it on the baby.

Never use any sort of ubtan i.e. besan/ haldi / malai to the baby for first three months. Please do not trouble your baby by rubbing with such items.

3 TIMES/WEEK if the baby has excess or lots of hair on head.
If the baby is bald then shampoo the baby ONCE A WEEK

Do not put any sort of kajal, home made or from markets and No Dhuri with dhoop.

So, after bath the question arises what sort of towel to be used? well, use the towel that has a hood behind. A baby understands three specific colors in the beginning and these three colors are Red, White and Black.  So try to use a baby bath in these colors preferably a red color bath tub.

One more thing is very important scientifically, red black and white colors stimulate the brain of the baby. Hence, it is important to use these colors or a combination of these colors. For instance- Baby Swaddle of white and red combination or a baby tub in red color, you can also use baby wraps/ blankets/ baby nappies in such color combinations.
